Now this is fun! Digital input class D amp like the original TACT, Lyngdorf and now Technics. No DAC, preamp, normal amp or line interconnects needed. Just drive this thing from a streamer with great volume control and you have really great sound. Maybe the best sound you can get with $15k.....or even more. Of course, mods are coming and other companies will make even better versions. Please read the thread on Audiogon where people have listened to this thing. The listening tests start with posts at August-29.
Especially enlightening is the fact that a $15K combo of Holo May KTE DAC with the Holo Serene Preamp and Kinki Labs B7 mono blocks with two excellent interconnects was beaten by this $2000 amp! I think this is the revolution that us "normal" audiophiles need. You might still beat this $2000 amp with $100K worth of stuff.......but a serious version of this technology......is, I sense....better than anything. The future is coming....the future is NOW. Even if you have a half a million dollar system......what about your bedroom or den or wherever......simply unbeatable value......and for those who cannot afford a super expensive system........You can get great sound for way less than you thought.....and use the money saved to get a better streamer, ethernet switching, Inverter power plus Puritan line filter, your own ground rod for your stereo, better speakers and speaker wires for EVEN BETTER SOUND.......anotherwords get $100K sound for way, way less than ever possible. This thing excites me.
