MPS-3 vs MPS-5Sound on cd and sacd, MPS-5 is more musical, has better density, more balanced and delicate, in short better on everything.
On can say that MPS-3 sound is about 80% of Mps-5.

Wow... I would have thought they would be closer.... unless you were using an SACD in the MPS-5 and a CD in the MPS-3 since it's Red Book only.

Hi Friends,

the MPS-3 only playing redbook?

Best regards,
Ricardo Nonato.

The MPS-3 has a transport that will only play Redbook CD's, but if you have a computer, you can use it as a DAC and play any PCM file up to 384kHz or DSD file up to 5.6MHz

Bruce B,

I thought only the MPS-5 played native DSD. It was good to know that the MPS-3 also plays DSD.

Best regards,
Ricardo Nonato.
