This thread is to discuss features and experiences with the Rowland Continuum 500 and 250 integrated amplifiers.

You will find a useful set of technical specs at:
http://jeffrowland.com/Continuum.htm

I will edit this starter post periodically to illustrate some of the features of C500 in particular, and some not so well known differences with C250.

Hi Guido - I had early versions of Rowland gear - even met Jeff personally while opening his distributor down hete - such as the Model 1, 2 and 8 with matching preamps (Consonance and Coherence).

How would you describe the sonic differences with the new line, particulary with the Continum500 which is my short list of possible substitutes for my Viva integrated amp.

Hi, I have heard C500 several times, and like it quite a bit. Unfortunately I have no first hand experience with Viva, hence it would be very difficult for me to venture a guess on sonic differences between Rowland C500 and Viva.

Hi Guido, I decided for a Symphonic Line RG14 as a substitute to the Viva, the SL is more in line with the design requierements of my Avalon speakers, still curious on trying a pair of 301/201s someday in the future :)

Take care,
