Russian Tubes (6V6)

Hi,

I have a home built quad 6v6 push pull amp using cathode bias and I have fried about 30% of the Russian made 6v6 power tubes ( EH, Gold Lion ) when going near or at full volume. It appears that the grid starts shorting.

This issue does not happen when I use old American made GE, Silvertone, Delco, and Tung Sol tubes.

Are there any modern production tubes that are made as well as the old American types?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
