Any thoughts on a single box CD player I am looking at replacing my Meridian G08 which is about 17 years old. Every thing I see now is a multi box system and I do not have the room in my set up
Thanks

Love the Neodio, but Roy Gregory says production is coming to an end.

Ed, I'm a big fan of my Eera Tentation one-box player, nearly a decade into ownership it remains as satisfyingly musical as it was on day one.

Was going to also recommend the Neodio , purchased one last August. I also saw the article by Roy, however maybe you can get a deal since production is ceasing, Neodio apparently is committed to service by maintaining its parts for those instances.

If you’re not looking to break the bank the Denon 110 anniversary SACD/CD is well thought of and $3500. It’s on my short list when my Ayre expires, if it ever does.

If working within a budget perhaps consider a Metronome Le Player 3 ( sans DAC might be a problem ) or perhaps a CEC TN2 / TN3 / TL5 belt drive CDP , both manufactures can also accommodate a more spendy option .

Would you consider a combined CD Player, CD Ripper, Twin 2TB hard drive music store and Streamer?

if so, take a look at NAD’s M50.2. Been around for a while so used examples occasionally turn up, but a brilliant bit of kit if you have a DAC or integrated with digital inputs.

I would put in a word for Luxman. A few models are end-of-life and may be in the market at a discount. I have had a D 05u SACD/CD player for five years or so. Drives are excellent, as is digital circuitry. Multiple price points.

I like SACDs in addition to CDs, and Esoteric, currently a K-01XD, is my choice. IMO their new in house developed Master Sound Discrete [component] DAC is a significant step up in refinement from their prior dependence on Asahi chip DACs.

Esoteric or accuphase would be an alternative manufacturer to consider
I have an Accuphase SACD DP-78 (2005) 18 years working without any problems, I upgraded to an Accuphase SACD DP 570, I'm very happy with them, I recommend!

We own the Vitus MP-T201 MK II. Like you said they sound great.

I have an Accuphase DP-570 also. It is a wonderful eumatic piece of gear, complimenting my BenchMark Media preamp/mono amps driving Sound Labs with aplomb and transparency.

I used several Accuphase players starting with the DP-70V eventually owning the 2 box 800/801.
since then I’ve moved onto Esoteric, attempting to find an equal sounding player without a gold facia haha!
Both great manufacturers
