A friend of mine, Marc Meisner -- a prominent audiophile in the San Francisco Bay area -- took me today to SUPERVINYL, a contemporary and sleekly-designed LP and turntable retail store in Hollywood, California.

Opened about two years ago by Barry Perlman, the store was staffed today by his colleagues, Danny and Justine. Both Danny and Justine are very knowledgeable about their inventory in particular and vinyl records in general.

SUPERVINYL seems to focus on sealed rock and pop records, with a specialty in Japanese pressings.

I noticed at the back of the store unusual loudspeakers which looked a lot like prototype speakers I saw several years ago at Michael Hobson's house. It turns out the store is, indeed, using speakers designed by Michael. Michael is a big fan of, and a regular patron of, SUPERVINYL.

Here is an interview with Barry: https://dealerscope.com/2021/11/store-visit-barry-perlman-supervinyl/

The store carries and prominently displays Rega turntables and a full line of Mcintosh turntables and electronics. For Mcintosh fans the store is McIntosh heaven!

Very cool Vibe. I know you mentioned they primarily stock Pop/Rock, however was there any Jazz inventory?
