What is the recommended voltage for switch/router/distributor? 12v?

Yes, but it really doesn’t matter much for the router/switch as the conversion efficiency of the is over 95%. It basically will consume about the same power if you run it at 12 or 15V. Your powersupply will have to supply less current at a higher voltage which can be a benefit, or not, but that all depends on the powersupply design.

Apparently they're delivering half today and the other half next week, not ideal but it's something.

Meanwhile Ton has taken up the gauntlet to try and finish a few by hand:

Are they not high-gloss polished as the switches before the chrome process? The finish looks blastered matte?

That’s not an approved final finish, we just started this project yesterday out of frustration of having to wait this long. We’re aiming for a matching appearance to a black anodised Extreme.

This is too glossy for example (and has some dust spots), so a reject aswell:

Thanks for reply and explaining!

You're welcome, we're not too eager to get into the surface finishing part of manufacturing, but the wait times are becoming ridiculous. So we're running some experiments now, if successful I would actually consider purchasing machinery to do this ourselves as well at this point.

I know your problem, have been relying on finishing-companies (paint, chrome and anodizing) and the lead times are sometimes ridiculous, unfortunately also the quality. Actually they are potential nightmares!
In order to secure quality and lead time, we ended up with an own paint department. The chrome process unfortunately involves too dangerous chemicals and restrictions. In my opinion chrome finish is to be avoided for a product.

I have a spare SOtM sPS-500 that is selectable between 12v or 19v.
Are you able to recommend which of the two voltage settings for my Taiko switch?

I would say to heck with the polished chrome. The anodized black look (like on the Extreme) is beautiful and perfect.
