The ratio between physical disc versus streaming via NAS for me is still 75% to 25%, as physical discs still sound better in my system.
In my view it's a good idea to keep a good quality transport, not only because it sounds better (as of today), but quality transports are becoming harder and harder to come by.
I do rip all my CD's and keep an additional back up. Just in case.

Congrats CKKeung on the new MSB transport! And the Kogan SACD's look mightly tasty! Wonder which source was used to remaster to these SACD's. Did it say?

I will admit it publicly. I miss going to record shops to buy lps. Even Tower Records to buy cds once I'd gotten over my anti digital stance.

I can only be grateful that physical bookstores still survive, many specialist ones thriving. Or are we all saying we prefer Kindle on principle?

The Chinese New Year in 2019 was on 5th Feb.
Chinese/Hong Kong people welcome spring and what it brings along: warmer weather, plants, new beginnings and fresh starts and for me, a new MSB Select Transport.

Its sturdy aluminum case is bigger than the wheels of my car. The shipping weight is 50lbs!
However, it doesn't have a handle and I nearly broke my back when carrying it to my home. o_O
View attachment 48432

Inside the case, the transport was protected by a cotton bag:

I won't mention the spec here. Please refer to MSB website : http://www.msbtechnology.com/transports/select-transport-specs/

The remotes are similar : Select remote (left) ? UMT Plus remote (right) ?
View attachment 48435

The chassis is CNC from a big billet of aerospace aluminum alloy. Look at the contours. So beautiful!

Two kinds of footers are included :

Congratulation on getting nice toys.

I heard them when I visit Korea December Last year.

The sound is impressive and hard to criticize but too expensive for me.

Your house could burn down too with all your media. What is your backup plan? Yawn.

Yeah, before you posted I had thought about editing my post to add a comment about the house burning down, but then found it silly. Yawn.

My only criticism is the duplicate OPPO remote. Surely a dedicated audio disc transport doesnt need 90% of those buttons? A small in your palm remote w fewer keys in a style to match the transport would be preferable?

The newer MSB DACs (DIscrete/Premier/Reference/SELECT) come with a metal remote that has the basic transport functions built-in as well, so you don't need the Oppo remote.
So find something else to criticize :)

They are 2-SACD boxes and I bought two such Kogan boxes while I was in Japan last month. Here is the info:

Here is the list of the whole "Definition Series" SACD Series :

Is your saliva drooling?

Have you been to the Tower Records in Shibuya of Tokyo?
It occupies a whole 8-floors building and there is a whole floor each dedicated to classical music and jazz music.
A must-go when you visit Tokyo!

CK, 8 floors record shop.
Fantastic.
What do we have in the UK?
Oh, HMV shutting their doors.
I hate the modern world.

Super cool! Yes I've been to the Shibuya store before, but it was several years ago. I go to Tokyo once a year; last time was September 2018, but I didn't stop by any of the Tower Records so I totally missed those. I spent two trips to Disc Union classical shop in Shinjuku during the last trip but didn't see these either.

The link said they used the original master tapes for these SACD edition. Drool drool...

The typical floor space in Japan are NOT big; certainly wasn't like the square footage of Tower Records on 4th? and Broadway in NYC when I went to college there. But it is still remarkable that Japanese consumers still buy physical medias, and SACD's still have healthy sales.

Did your UMT Plus come with MSB Pro I2S output and Siganature Transport power base ?

Did you connect it to the DAC via the Pro I2S interface ?

Yes, via ProI2S before, which is much better than any aes/ebu digital cables.

BTW the best ethernet cable for ProI2S I experienced is the Dalby Audio Meda.
The 2nd best is Vertere.

Did you have the Signature Dual powerbase as well ?

Now you are using the optical ProI2S, right ?

I have not decided on my DAC upgrade yet.
Maybe MSB Ref DAC, maybe Toltaldac Twelve Mk2.

One record company executive I know in the US swears by MSB Ref DAC. He said of all the DACs he had auditioned, MSB sounded the most analog to his ears. Plus I would imagine MSB Ref would match better with your MSB transport, especially if you want to spin SACDs.

Yup the new DiskUnion classical shop on the 8th floor of Kinokunia bookstore is quite new and that's where I went last September. Twice. The used Jazz shop is also on the same floor.

Therefore, you are right, those two shops will empty your wallet awefully fast.
