Sadly Wayne Piquet ( PK) a restorer of quads passed away a few years ago. Some had difficulties toward the end with fulfillment from him - however, I had several sets done over the years and never had an issue.

His rebuilds were the best of QUAD Musikwiedergabe, Classique Sounds and some other local restorers I tried. I still have NOS treble Quad panels here that have been tested and the PK quads were identical.

Now Electrostatic Solutions in the mid west USA is reputed to rebuild great panels- never used them. I still have my ESLs and enough panels and hardware for a double stack to use with my Futterman ESL...... Maybe one day.
I can vouch for Electrostatic Solutions. I have a pair of their completely rebuilt ESL63's and couldn't be happier. Occaisionally I drive them harder than I thought you could drive Quads with no problems.

Excellent stuff maties!
Oh! That's really sad, didn't know that Wayne had passed. It's certainly good to know that there are others out there who can restore these legendary stats. Down unda, these types of techies are virtually non-existent! The majority of them don't repair nor rebuild, they just replace! And 90% of the time it never sounds the same or anything close to the original. What a shame.

I guess for us, we still have a handful of chaps that can do trannies, and other types of rebuilds, and of course we have Graz up in Queensland who's the Apogee specialist. That's about it, no one else really. I had the opportunity once of learning how to fix stats but never had the time. Still regretting that. Oh well, what to do and life goes on...

Cheers, and enjoy those fine tunes!

Kent McCullom at ESS does great job, id also recommend Sheldon Stokes in New Hampshire if you're on the East Coast. I have 57's rebuilt by both of them and they're both masters at their craft. Sheldon came up with the optimum stand that raises the speaker 18" and rakes it forward 12° which works perfectly when listening in the nearfield. If you have the Arcici 57 stands adjusting height and rake are a snap.

They look like great restorers, but I'm in London now. Tons of cheap Quads in the UK, but I've only found the one restorer, in Leicester. Thanks for the recs though!
