when I was in New York 2 weeks ago visiting Marty , he has one which he used to use. He showed me his. You might want to PM marty and ask him his thoughts
They work well but they are a pain if you have a tight fit around your arm.
On a related note at the Munich show, I saw a new company that is making a record weight with a lift built into the weight. I thought it was a unique product that seemed to work well. Did anyone else who went see it and remember the product? Can't find any of the info now, will see if I can dig it out later.

I bought mine when they first came out. It's worked flawlessly and reliably across a range of turntables and it is in constant use till today.
Prior to that, I used the Q-up. The Q-up can fling your tonearm up quite brutally if you have a very low mass arm. The Tru-Lift seems to gently lift the arm up at the same slow speed no matter the mass.
