Hello Guys.
Hope everything is goin fine with erverybody in 2021.
I have a Question.
The source for my music (ripped cd archive and tidal) is a windows 10 pro pc
that is located in another room
around 10m from my audio gear.
My simple but maybe stupid idea is now
to send the music via powerline or maybe it is called powerlan in other countrys
to a raspberry pi and then to my dac.
Any idea about my thoughts?
Or another way to bridge the 10m distance?
PLS no Wifi or Bluetooth solution.
Thanks and Greets from Germanny.
Adam

Hello Guys.
Thanks for your quick answers and shown solutions.
After reading my post again i´ve seen that i´ve forget to say
that i have a Router installed. So.....
PC>ROUTER>POWERLINE GEAR>NOTEBOOK>DAC
The Router is the top of the line model fritzbox 7590
from the german AVM-FRITZ! developer.
At the end of this signal way i have a older win 10 pro notebook now.
But as everybody knows, (normal) notebooks not realy made for audio.
So....i think to exchange the notebook to the raspberri (or something else).
Hope i explain it right with my bad language knowledge.
Dont wanna use allways the google translator because i´m 64 now
and this is a bit brain sport. ;)

I had a powerline connection at one time to avoid running another hardwire to a back room.
I didn’t use it for audio, but it was slow and unreliable. Maybe because of the brand or my particular installation, but I don’t think it’s a Good solution.
Normal notebooks can work well with proper tweaking.. Dedicated audio boxes aren’t much different, more marketing than actual changes..

Hi Adam,

I want to take up the thought of @Magnuska. Fiber optic is an excellent way to have interference-free Ethernet over a longer distance. If you are interested to read my suggests (in German), take a look: Audio PC fiber optic. ;)

Best regards from Berlin

Hello Magnus.
It looks that i need Fiber from my ISP(Internet Service Provider).
But i live in a small town. The ISP spend no money for Fiberglass.
I have 50 MB over Copperwire. Since last Year! And believe me: i was on my knees for it.
