VR-5 Anniversary MKII

Has anyone had to remove their drivers to get the cabinets refinished? I have an early pair of MKII in piano black that are in need of a new finish but the drivers seem to be glued into the cabinets. I have reached out to von schweikert a few times for a solution with no response. Is their a special method I am not aware of? Thanks
