This is basically the six sonatas for violin and keyboard with 3 other trios thrown in. The keyboard part is played on an organ instead of a harpsichord or piano. I prefer the piano on these but the organ works tremendously well here.

By the unfortunately named Charles Jones (1910-1997). It seems there’s hardly anything out there by him. This album reminds me of Copland for some reason. The Five Melodies for Violin & Piano are the real gems here. They are graceful, lighthearted and playful. The Symphony No. 3 and Piano Sonata No. 2 are also quite interesting, but the Piano Sonata is poorly recorded.
