I’m curious what your complete digital chain looks like…here is mine:

AT&T Uverse router (plugged into Shunyata Venom powerstrip and has Ansuz Sortz device in extra Ethernet slot) into over Synergistic Research Foundation SX Ethernet cable to Ansuz D2 Powerswitch to Ansuz Ethernet cable to dCS Rossin Apex (grounded to the Altaira) to Audio Research Ref 6SE linestage.

I am looking at possibly getting some sort of music server down the road but now just using a collection of thumbdrives to play files with the Mosaic app for control.

What does your chain look like?

Very nice! I need to look into the 10GTEK.

Nothing special…
1) Either an iPad into a Metabo boom box (like a Makita) for pod casts in teh kitchen
2) The AVP with Spotify streaming via the TV’s app
3) or an RME ADI02 Pro being fed from a NUC or iPad - fed into the Pre-amp etc.

Sort of had initial problems with digital noise that made me think, “Oh this is what people complain about”, which I never had with the TT.

That was using the DAC in ADC mode, and when I hooked out the XLRs to the pre-amp it helped the grounding a lot.
I still have spurs in the spectrum, but it is way down.
Added an LPS which helped, but still would like to push those spurs and click lower.down… Hence I am on the lookout.

But it seems easier and cheaper to just use the digital to peruse what to get on Vinyl which has been totally solid.

Is your RME ADI-2 equipped with AKM chips or ESS?

Dunno - I got the first one slightly used and it seemed like a Dandy.
Then I got another to eventually put into a truck, or use as a headphone amp.

I have used them more for ADC than as a DAC, and it is likely I could have one of each.

My system at the moment has a Gaza’egue or Kiev look to it:
The is a rack in progress in the woodworking workshop (shed)… and other stuff is sitting on some 2nd hand low desk after a recent move.
Preamp is in the study and using the AVR and some easy to use amps for the Haus-Boss.
The tube amp is also in the study..

So I’ll need to dig out the RME and put is back in.
The new amps have an auto-on as well as 12v trigger and should be an easy push button operation for the other Half.
The tube amp needs a toe poke, to turn it on and off, so hence the upgrade to save the mrs toe injuries, or bending down to turn it on.

Her requirements were more Feng-Shui orientated:
- Needs to look nice
- Be silver and not black
- Easy to use - a remote would be nice.
- Not too bulky/big.

I recommend you to check it out cause there is a big difference in sound. IMHO AKM is much better especially with NOS option.

Thanks for that mate!

If one is different, then I’ll transfer that to the truck which is loud anyhow.

It is pretty handy to use it for ADC and then analyse the signals. But I should be making tie to do more of that.

Luckily my boss is mad into that stuff so we have a side project, which may become sort of a science project for grad students.
He has multiple compiles of some early 60 LPs (The Orlons) and and we’ll compile tracks by pulling out the bad sections of the damaged LPs.
Sort of a fun project..

But I generally just use the vinyl, and like it. So I am “old skool”.

Stereo system has an Asus router to Baetis Reference to Playback Designs MPT8 to Playback Designs MPD8 to Boulder 1110 to Boulder 3060 to YG Sonja XVi. Also have a Playback Designs Pinot ADC to which is connected the analog playback turntable and reel to reel, analog is converted to DSD digital by the Pinot which is connected to the MPT8. The MPT8 converts all PCM to DSD. DSD is sent by P-Link glass fiber to the MPD8 DAC. Also have a Pioneer Elite DV58 connected to the Boulder 1110.
