And, are your measuring db-A pr db-C? I've noticed db-A gives a level 10 db lower than C.

My db-A level is in the mid 30's. (measured on "db meter" smart phone app).

That seems exceptional!

I live in the countryside and the room has external (double skin) walls on all sides. I have room treatments too covering windows. Yes a very quiet room :)

I also live outside the city with double glazed windows and double walls but your levels are very good. I would love to have that background noise level but it would cost quite a lot to drop down to 26dbA. I feel lucky to be around 32-35db.

It must be about how your room is sealed from the outside. Even if there are no anthropogenic noise sources around, typically you would not get lower than 30dbA during the day.

It is quite odd. Even moving a finger to press pause will shoot it up 6dB. I have to literally hold my breath to get below 30dB. I will send a piccie later.

In my room with air coming out of the heating vents it is 38-40. My guess is that 10 dB of that is the hard drives of my DVRs humming. The next time I restart the DVRs I will remeasure.

I find holding my breath, in addition to lowering my noise floor from the listening position, also gives me this unmistakable light-headedness after a couple of minutes. Sometimes I even pass out from the sheer ecstasy of the quietude.

No meter. No graph. It's low enough to where music comes from nowhere, everywhere when the music starts whether or not I am holding my breath.

I just measured today: 26 dB during day time (dB A). I never got such a low SPL during day time. I usually have between 30-35 dB as there are planes flying over the house at mid level altitude. With Covid-19 and the cancellation of many flights, I have not heard a plane since several days.
