What SPECIFICALLY is better or different about the Wadax Design? How do these design choices manifest in better sound?

Mike,
We addressed the subject in previous Lampizator threads and people understood why it was not relevant. No fights and no more questions. Should I remember you the Wadax is a solid state DAC and the designer claims?
that's baloney. all designers have claims for performance. top MSB has not been measured by Atkinson. they make all sorts of claims.

No manufacturer has any requirement to provide any of this content to you. I suggest you get over your own massive ego.

Oh, so you are now an expert in digital sound reproduction? Curiously it was not me the one who introduced this technical discussion, it was brought by the Wadax fans.

> Heaven forbid this forum becomes like AudioScienceReview - why don’t you clear off there if that is your preference…

I am not an ASR reader - just went there following the link posted in WBF Wadax thread. I had terrible discussion with their owner in the past , I had hope that obscurantism had moved away from WBF.

that's baloney.

No, it is not. As pointed at that time tube rolling is a game of preference, too unsystematic to be analyzed by measurements. Nothing could be learned by them.

Where in my post did I write anything about being an expert in digital audio? I am not.

This nonsense of one needing to have a manufacturer (who is doing extremely well) come onto a forum and explain / justify their technology on how they choose do do things is obscene.

Don’t worry I am wandering off now back to my analogue cave lol. I was watching this from afar scratching my head on this and felt compelled to say something.

Hopefully your ‘discussion break’ will last not (too) long, Elliot, because otherwise you might get ‘bored’ ….
I'm not sure your point however every single manufacturer makes claims and uses wonderful language to describe their products. This is called marketing and also advertising. Read any high end web page and its there in black and white. Speakers, Cables, Electronics and even furniture.
We won't ever change that. Manufacturers are under no obligation to join this forum, or any other forum to defend themselves, and in fact most wan't to avoid this type of thing as to not get into these adversarial discussions.
As I said if readers have technical question they should address them to the companies that design and build the gear IMO as they might actually get an answer that satisfies them. I personally am not a technical person and that stuff does truly bore me.
If you dont care for the sound of something thats fine, it happens every day, every showroom, every show. Everyone has the ability to listen for themselves and make a decision as to what they enjoy, its the other nonsense that is truly boring. One last thought, just becasue something comes along that many like better does not mean that what came before is bad. That seems to be the kicker here I think, maybe I am wrong.

I was only making a relativistic side note, Elliot.

This is why High-End Audio has become what it is! We are too quick to give manufacturers a pass to say whatever they want, without questioning or asking for proof. It’s no surprise that our hobby is filled with so much snake-oil, fraudsters, charlatans, and shisters. We are ridiculed and laughed at because of the kind of BS we accept because it “sounds good”. While many here don’t have the knowledge to question and peer review claims, some of us do.

Sorry but this is the world not just audio. Every consumer product makes high claims. The worlds best Pizza, Tacos. Steak House, Athletic Shoes, most blah blah car. Audio is just another consumer product and in most of all of these claims there is NO proof.
Who's is the best Pizza? The Best Red Wine? The best Cigar? arent these all a matter of opinion?
The world is full of scammers in every field and IMO audio might have some but they do very little harm to anyone even if they are.
Let the buyer beware! You want something that to be really honest you won't ever get. Proof? proof to whom
Personally I don't feel laughed at or rediculed I do my homework when I buy things and live with my choices, if people don't do their homework that really is there issue.. I'm an avid golfer every single company has something every single year that makes the ball go farther or straighter so what, does that mean they are scammers?
Go look at webpages of any consummer products
are they all liars and scammers?
Take a deep breath , chill you will live longer this is all a tempest in a tea pot. No one is forcing anyone at gun point to buy anything. We all have free will and can exercise it.

and are we learning alot here?

No, but we could. Interesting points were being presented before the fight against technical aspects started.

just who has the time to play around at mental jousting.

Yes, some audiophiles consider technical issues mental jousting. But most of them show some interest on them .

What is the point? How is this related to a technical debate concerning high-end gear?

Again, what it the connection of free wiill with feedforward and digital timing? IMHO free will is related with preference. INHO we should clearly separate them.

i keep watching for the measurement crowd to go after the Lampi Horizon like the Wadax. it's getting at least as much attention, but no push for any of that. their owners are similarly impressed.

"why don't they give one to Atkinson?"

tube rolling maybe scares them off.
The allure of tubes and the lower price tag is my guess :)

Everywhere in life there is a constant battle for the free will of people.
Religion ,Politics, financials , advertizing , at the workplace
Look alone at this site , 70 % of the posts are about trying to influence another human being .
Instead of just have a personal listen to the gear of discussion and give his / her personal opinion.
This would be much more interesting

Greetings from Porto

WBF is light years ahead of other spots. Follow the above link to ASR if you want to really go spelunking in the depths where 99.99% of posts are negative… There is at least conversation here, civility most of the time and lots of unique perspective from lots of folks with experience.
