YH Company is a new venture of Mr. Young Ho HUR from South Korea.

He visited Hong Kong and demoed his turntable to a group of audiophiles in HK today.

The YH Analog turntable Opus 5-PF (the small box on floor at the right lower corner of the photo is the SUT for mc cartridge) :

The external design is clean and modern, a bit like a Simon Yorke :

However the VH Analog is actually much more advanced. It is a belt-drive design and has a DC motor inside a carbon fiber enclosure at the back :

The lower box on the floor is the powersupply+speed control unit.
The upper box is the included phonoamp : 20190622_163131~2.jpg

The phonoamp is a tube design :

This is the jacket of a The Wall album used for the demo today. See the connection?
Answer : the external pattern design of VH Analog turntable is a tribute to The Wall album of Pink Floyd.

Was that an FR or a reproduction tonearm with an SME sled adapter? The way the motor is mounted made me think it was an idler at first.

Mr. Hur is a collector of vintage tonearms.
Yes, that's a vinatage FR.

I didn't see the posterior DC motor initially and thought that it's a direct drive.

YH Audio (www.yhanalog.com) has a motto saying “Once I was blind, but now I see”. My experience today was indeed an eye opener, or rather ear opener. Definitely much more musical and dynamic than my digital front-end (Antipodes DX3 + Lampizator Pacific). Great soundstage and PRaT.
