My favourite modern violinist. Was a finalist at the Queen Elizabeth competition around 12 years ago. Didn't win but he was a firm favourite with many observers. I can't help but see a lot of of Oistrakh in him - both in physical appearance and the considered, polished, stately way he plays.

I've been looking for another copy mine is well worn out, hope the 180 gram disc doesn't kill the sound like many others I own...

i really like this one a lot...something incredibly well balanced between delivering mystical/adventurous sweep and an almost cerebral attention to detail, tempo, nuance.
