Herzan/Table Stable "Active" Isolation table.

Ron, you, Mike and Christian are going to be at the extreme bleeding edge of analog. You’re all choosing to ignore Dave’s explicit advice to stick with inert super stiff passive steel stand, and go active Herzan. . . .

I am taking David's advice. I am specifying and I will be ordering the heaviest (3" square box legs) stand Herzan will make. I am simply ordering a stand which has the ability to accomodate a standard TS-300 in the future if I change my mind.

The only active isolation platform I am for sure ordering is a TS-140 with external power supply for the Io main unit.

We already changed the aluminum to stainless shelf for Chris for a reason, as Taiko Audio mentioned in his post panzerholtz can be too dead in this application Mike. The AS is very neutral and balanced by design I can't recommend introducing random resonance and dampening into the mix without some testing.

Actually my steel plate is 3/8” carbon steel, not stainless. My AVI Nano table arrives tomorrow.

The carbon steel isn't an issue same effect as stainless, all of mine are carbon steel too but I didn't realize that it was only 3/8" thick. Anyway let's see how this active isolation plays out.

I just can’t see how the “passive” option for Herzan matches anywhere near to Dave’s recommendation.
Sure it’s passive by definition, in that it’s “disabled active”, but does that really compare to Dave’s version of passive?

The best thing...if it doesn’t work under the AS2000 beneficially which I highly doubt, I can remove it, builds a rigid steel table and use the avi active nano table to hold two phonostages and my main preamp....there is no downside here.

That is what engineering advised. Plenty rigid and not too heavy...120lbs for the 3/8” plate alone.

Mike is grinning right now and comfortably waiting for the outcome :)! Jarek also has an interesting solution in the works.

Maybe its time to come out and join the three Muskateers :D. I am number 4.

I asked David who is kind enough to collaborate with Jarek for a total solution of my Thor's Hammer. Jarek now has all design principles from David and also my requirements. It is a three tiers rack. High mass probably more than 400 lbs, functional oriented, no nonsenses. Second tier has Stacore Advance for my phono. The lowest tier is for the motor control. Active antivibe never enter my mind for this super heavy Hammer from the start. My listening room is also L-shape and the Hammer will be placed at the far right leg of L. Picture might better explain.

We just decided that the rack shall be no taller than 86 cm. Other design details and Jarek's secret sauce will be upto Jarek. Jarek can respond shall there be any questions. I dont know if this thread is appropriate. Here are some early rendering of the rack from Jarek.

Pls dont ask me about pricing. I only agreed with Jarek on pricing principals. In fact, we still dont know how much it will be.
Just to let you guys know Jarek has been working on his rack that incorporates his Stacore platform for general purpose. My rack is spec specifically for the AS so the structure could be different. Hope Jarek is not upset me showing his prototye.

Isnt this great we have different ways approaching the endgame tt.

Kind regards,
Tang

Congratulations, Tang, on the American Sound turntable and on the stand!

Welcome to the adventure!

Where is the new stand going to be located? Somewhere in that adjacent equipment room?

Tang...your on the AS2000 bandwagon ? Congrats ! Lots of different stand implementations. No two AS2000’s will sound alike !

Yes Christian. I have been there from the start and have been sneaking at what you guys are doing. :p

Yes Ron. The AS and its rack will be placed adjacent to the AF1p where you can see the armrest of my sofa in the picture. I have to move my sofa to the other side.

Thanks for mentioning me but Jarek's doing all the heavy lifting. I was wondering how long before you announced it :)! Can't divulge the name but a good friend is the 5th member musketeer.
Very elegant space Tang!

Thanks Mike. I think our units will be delivered pretty much the same time. Next March or April right?
