Hi, does anyone know where to get an user manual for CAT JL2? I seem to have mislaid mine, and I think its time to check the bias settings..
Best regards,
Torres

If/when I try tube amps later this summer, his mono's might be the ticket if I don't go ML3's
Ken's amps are great, but it's his preamp that is the real star of the show.

CAT is an excellent alternative to Lamm IMHO. Personally, i prefer the CAT Legend Black Path to the Lamm LL1.1.

Nothing. I was interested in specs of his current amp offerings. I find it surprising he doesn’t have a website in this day and age.

I found this on the ‘net for the CAT JL3:

Specifications:

And for the JL7:

Specifications:

THD @ 1 Watt: 0.005%
Energy Storage: 1800 joules
Bandwidth: 1 Hz to 70 kHz (+0, -3dB)
Damping Factor: 14, across entire audio band
Gain: 27dB (8 ohms), 24dB (4 ohms)
Input Impedance: 100K ohms single ended 200K ohms balanced
Sensitivity: 2 VAC for full power
Noise: 120 dB below full power
Power Bandwidth: 20 Hz to 30 kHz
Tube Complement: 2 x 6922 driver and power supply 8 x KT150, triode mode
Dimensions: 20” x 12.4” x 7.8” (L:W:H) 50cm x 31cm x 20cm
Weight: 88 lbs. (40kg) each unit

Hope this helps.

^^^Thanks. JL7’s would be the way I wound go...

Excellent choice, and I think you would get a significant upswing in SQ over your current Pass labs.
The phono stage in the CAT preamp...both Legend and Renaissance is superb, IMO. Saves a great deal over a stand alone phono stage.

Does he still work out of his garage. He visited me several years ago with another friend of mine. Very interesting guy
