hORNS Universum MkIII - hORNS by Auotech

Shakti - if you are reading this, do you know the uni crossover points and tweeter driver?

Thanks Chris. I know the mid is a Radian 850. It is the treble I am unsure of but have been told it sound very detailed and good.
Sorry but I don't have type and brand of the tweeter but it REALLY sounds excellent, as does the midrange driver in the huge mid horn ;)

I think it is the 1” radian with Be diaphragm.

To be fair there aren’t that many options available with 1” exit and Beryllium diaphragm that aren’t exorbitant. I am pretty certain they don’t use the TAD tweeter because too expensive for the product...

It is a Radian magnet but the beryllium diaphragm is sourced separately and customised to Lukasz's specification

It is written on their web page that they use Radian drivers. The 1" Radian with be diaphragm is 475be-pb. I have the beryllium version of this driver with a very similar horn (mine is jmlc 1400hz, universum has jmlc 1500hz, and from the same material). 475be is a good driver, and I heard it against TAD 2001. TAD is a "tad" better but not much :) and like them. I use Radian on the midrange and prefer to have family synergy.

This for me is a little hard to believe but of course it is a possibility. The 475be already has a beryllium diaphragm. Why would you want another beryllium diaphragm there than the one it is designed with. It has to fit in the same place, has the same material...

There was some reason he didn't want their stock beryllium and wanted it to his spec, not sure why.

Yes, of course it is possible. I have become cautious of these claims as I have heard before about "modified" drivers with another brand of horns, and when I inspected it was just the change of back covers that had no impact on sound whatsoever!

That's possible

Radian also supply Beryllium diaphragm as standard.
