Having just compared USB and Air Ethernet on a 240 upgraded from D1, I very clearly prefer ethernet. It does overall sound a bit brighter still, but it may be better than last week. I do also agree with Orb that the warm up time may be a bit longer. A bit of break in may help, we'll know more...- bernardl

I did install firmware 6.06, great sound in combination with Audirvana 1.5 through the Weiss Int202. The difference is subtle, but I feel it is even better, though hard to say whether it is Audirvana 1.5 (installed a few days ago) or 6.06. One thing is sure, they work really well together. You may want to read the last few pages of this thread. I have been using a P10 with my D-Premier for half a year. It did help with the consistency of the good sound coming out of the set up. Cheers, Bernard- bernardl

No rigorous comparison done, but since the D1 body is metal, I have personnally selected a set of quartz insulators from Acoustic Revive. Sound is overall out of this world, don't know whether those contribute or not. Cheers, Bernard- bernardl
