    Hot Pressings

Glad you like it! It was run off the same tape as the CISCO pressing, but we had Bernie re-master and cut the lacquer.

    Hyper Sonic X4 Cartridge

It would match perfectly. You could check with P'Wut for availability.

    Upgrading Genesis II's

Many thanks Mak. Happy New Year. GENSW9B looks like the servo/preamp board for the old G500 plate amp. I can't figure out what GENSW4A is - it is truncated. There are a bunch of digital potentiometers (DS1267) which makes me suspect it might be part of the original servo-bass amp prior to 1997.

    Hyper Sonic X4 Cartridge

Perfect. The CH was one of the phonostages used during the development in Switzerland. Not sure if the designer owns a P1 or the P10 though.....

    Hyper Sonic X4 Cartridge

Everything took longer than we thought.... But I am very pleased with the results. The combination of low impedance and low output means that it is unfortunately very demanding on the phonostage matching. Hence, we are considering a higher-output higher-impedance version for...

    Hot Pressings

Sorry for the 10 month wait. We worked hard on it, and had to work through all the mishaps along the way. Noisy test pressings due to damaged lacquers meant several re-cuts. Unfortunately, because it is a One Step, we were severely limited in the number of times we wanted to run the master...

    Hyper Sonic X4 Cartridge

Thanks, Ron. A lot of thinking, and 3 years of prototyping!

    Hyper Sonic X4 Cartridge

That was probably prototype #2 or #3 at CAF last year.... but yes the Price is Right.

    Hyper Sonic X4 Cartridge

As with all of my non-loudspeaker products, I only get into something when I find that what is available commercially does not satisfy. I've had a stable of cartridges that I rotate because none of them totally satisfy. The Transfiguration Proteus D was my favorite overall, but unfortunately is...

    Analog Audio Design TP-1000

Well, it definitely makes sense for a studio: wrangling to keep an old A80 or ATR102 alive vs something with new all parts and a warranty.

    Gregadds' CAF coverage 2023

It's definitely no shame to be edged out by Jacob George's Maarga. He's a musician and an artist. I've liked his speakers since his original prototypes. The electronics I was using was the Heed Thesis line - Gamma stereo power amp ($3,500) and Lambda line stage ($3,300) with add-on Pi power...

    Gregadds' CAF coverage 2023

It was great to see you Greg. It's a pity that you missed hearing the bigger Foxtrot. The Minuet certainly does everything I want when seated in a couch. Neither are "What's Best" kind of speakers, but many people "got it". I set out to design a family-friendly series of loudspeakers with a...

    Gregadds' CAF coverage 2023

Thanks Tom. On the bright side, we then got to play the really affordable system much more and that sounded great! Greg was too tall for the short speakers, but on a lower chair than the conference chairs we had, I think that he enjoyed them.
