Do you know that the parts used are cheap, or that is it only looks cheap?
Alps is also used in Tidal preamps, so they are very good.
The power capacitors used in 255II are from Nichicon, many other manufacturers also use them in their top products, so they must be very good.
But the most important in FMA products are the modules - inside are mil-spec transistors who are selected in a very time consuming process.
All this selection gives superior sound and FMA products never fail.
I haven't heard of any FMA Resolution products that blow up or has errors because of the parts used.
Alps is also used in Tidal preamps, so they are very good.
I haven't heard of any other manufacturers who use a torture vibrate test on their products, this is one of the Mil-spec 202 methods tests.
FMA measure the product, vibrate it, measure it again, it must be exactly the same - before and after the vibrate test.
So the cabinet must be of very good quality.
LoL - My Audio Consulting MIPA is strongly adviced not to turn it upside down, or indeed shake it, as it is all loosely setup with no virtually no screws - this is hand wired to the limit! If you'd try to ship it, you would have a problem..
Sounds great..
Looking at your pictures above and specifically the picture on the left, the bottom right wiring looks very neat. The bottom left wiring looks like someone else did it or if it was the same person, he got drunk at lunchtime and wired the left side.
Commenting my own comment with a pic of my special order hand made MIPA 30 amp..
