It's not an audiophile recording, for sure. But musically, I haven't heard a single audiophile jazz album that's as good as it.I downloaded this album as a 24/44.10kHz FLAC from Qobuz. Whilst there is no doubt about it this is an amazing album the sound quality is really poor, or at least the version that Qobuz are stocking. It almost sounds like an MP3, very little separation between instruments and the resolution just isn't there. I checked online and among the multitude of very favourable reviews I did find one or two references to lacklustre production values... what a shame as musically this is an outstanding album.

It does sound good (great even) on some of the systems I've played it on...
An Interesting analogy Alex, that perks my interest, thanksAnd it's a winner! Modal/Spiritual jazz, like mid-to-late 70s McCoy Tyner. Very busy, lots of instrumentation, choirs, etc.
