New Dates for
The Pacific Audiofest 2024 September 6-8 at the Doubletree Hilton, Seattle,Washington.

Show hours
Friday: 10 am - 6 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 6 pm
Sunday: 10 am - 4 pm

Who attended this year? I was there for a single day on Friday, and the show was 1/2 to 1/3 the size it was its first year (2022), after the pandamic, when I had a room showing Alsyvox, Pilium, Vyda, and Taiko Extreme. And I do believe they’ve scheduled the next one for 2026 (skipping a year).

I saw a fair number of turntables, a few reel-to-reels, but it seems the CD is dead nearly every room was streaming or playing from a server.

I personally think there are just too many shows, diluting interest. IMHO there should be Axpona (because of its history) in the spring and a replacement for Rocky Mountain Audiofest in the fall. It seems, given reports of other (tiny) shows recently, the supply is greater than the demand so perhaps market forces will narrow the field organically. Some have argued with me the regional shows allow people to have exposure but if a show has few exhibitors its not much different than no show at all.

I will say thanks to the exhibitors who showed up, I know what it takes its not a trivial matter time and resources.

I spend whole day on Satruday.

It is too bad that number of exhibitors got reduced to leass than half.

But I had fun. :) with several new ones.

Hi - you would certainly know better than I would, but it's my understanding the Florida show is growing pretty well each year it was a great show in 2024 and is moving to a much larger hotel as they need a lot more room for 2025.

And the Southwest show in Dallas was a very nice size and I believe (I could be wrong) it is planning to be considerably larger next year as well.

I attended both and enjoyed them and the manufacturers I spoke with did as well.

Those two seem to align well with the calendar / regions as FLA is great for many to go to in February and Dallas is central to the US, while not having the nightmares that come with Chicago (I've been part of DOZENS of trade show in Chicago over the decades).

If the really small shows are run more with local dealer support than mfg's sending people, then it will help expand the audio hobby and let the manufacturers focus on the several large shows (the most obvious being AXPONA)..

Again, just an outsiders personal observations.

the main issue with this show this year was the timing. they moved it from late June, to early September. late June there are not conflicts. but this weekend you have the first weekend of football, CEDIA is at the same time, it's back to school and end of summer. terrible timing. so most manufacturers simply did not bother. i was there Friday and Saturday, but left early Saturday and watched football today. i did have guests visiting my barn room Friday night late and Saturday night late which was fun.

last year it was pretty good, many more rooms and more energy, even though it was 2 weeks after the Costa Mesa show.

Makes total sense - timing is key.

For the US, Capital Audiofest in Rockville MD is also a great show that has grown in size and quality each year, particularly 2021, 22 and 23. It's now second in size and scope, exceeded only (in the US) by AXPONA.

Korea Audio & Visual Lifestyle Show

They have more than 100 small rooms.

I was born in Seoul and have many friends and relative over there.

The population of Seoul is three times of Seattle metropolitan area.

In addition, the size of audio market of Seoul may be more than 5 times of Seattle.

Nevertheless, it will be nice to have more exhibitors in the future.

Thank you for sharing. I love the high end audio scene in South Korea / Japan / Hong Kong.

I was lucky enough to be one of Mike's guests on Saturday night. Who needs a show when you have Mike in the area?! Nothing at any show can impress more than what Mike has going on. Thanks for a great time Mike.

Agree on the many comments about the show. Bad timing, the looming strike, and the fact that we have sooo many audio shows these days all affected the Seattle show turnout by vendors and the attendees both. I went Saturday only, despite buying a 3 day pass. I just didn't see much there that I cared about. And it was depressing to see it so empty.

I think just 2-3 really good shows per year is enough nationwide.

I agree with many of the comments above. On the other hand we had a good show, and the vendors I spoke to seemed quite happy. We had great sound in the room, a full house all three days, and closed a sale. Our panel discussion on Saturday with Clayton and Gary was very well-attended, and the audience highly engaged.

We've participated all three years, and I've always felt the greatest obstacle for PAF is the venue. Attendees practically need a dousing rod to find exhibitors tucked away in the wings of the hotel, and should they happen to find them, they are invariably greeted with tropical conditions in the poorly air conditioned rooms in that section of the property. If vendors with standard sized rooms were all easily co-located in the tower, it seems like it would amount to a very big, positive change. In any case, I'm certainly rooting for Lou.

Next year, it'll likely be SWAF, AXPONA and CAF for us.
