IMHO ignorance, lack of love for music or a depressive mind can turn this hobby in an endless rabbit hole. It is essentially an extremely rewarding, but also challenging hobby.

as far as I know there are only discontented audiophiles (including myself) but none of them admits and says he is very happy with the sound. after a short while itching wins and all audiophiles change some gear, cable or tweak. otherwise they wouldn’t be called audiophiles
