I'm very excited about these 3 new tapes by cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan since it's our 2nd recording session & this repertoire was perfect for him.... all 3 tapes were recorded LIVE.
1) Grieg: Cello Sonata in A minor, Op.36 - is rarely played but has wonderful melodies...
2) Chopin: Introduction and Polonaise brillante in C major, Op.3 + Chopin Etude in C-sharpe minor, Op.25 No.7 (played 2x with different bows)
+ Paganini: Variations (on 1 string) on a theme from Rossini's opera Moses in Egypt
3) Beethoven: 7 Variations on a theme from Mozart's Magic Flute + Beethoven: Cello Sonata No.3 in A major, Op.69
The Chopin Etude with 2 bows, is similar to tubes & solid state in the audiophile's world....
The Paganini Moses Variations is beyond amazing....in all respects...
These will be up on the website by the end of May when my web gal returns from her honeymoon!
Happy listening!
