That's kind of oversimplifying the situation many audiophiles face How many people have a "dedicated" audio room that they can do anything they want to? Plus, most of the room Rx stuff looks like crap IMHO.
It's not oversimplifying. Just start off with little things that don't cost anything, like getting the room/system layout as symmetrical as possible. Moving draperies or opening/closing blinds. Hell, they even have room treatments now that are disguised as artwork! A big one.... moving speakers or your listening position.... even if it's just for a listening session. Those things can have a major impact!
