What should all high end speaker cabinets be made from?

HPL
No papercones,i bet the cones come from here . all big companies let build there.
over the years, high-end companies have gotten weird. In the past, all possible measurements of step response, frequency response and so on were given for every new speaker. They were proud of new product and had nothing to hide. i love companies like Neumann or ME- Geithain, they've been showing things like this for 50 years.facts create calm and reliability;)

Possibly , Thanks for the link i didn t know that one yet , interesting .
But there are already perfectly built chassis for sale from Eton and scanspeak with which one can built great speakers , i dont need to reinvent the wheel these specialist companies have decades of experience.

Ps . And besides that they are all just voice coils with a membrane attached to it moving in a magnet gap.
The same goes for magico and wilson.
You can call it: high tech , nasa tech , nano tech , graphene tech , the principle stays the same

On topic : i ll be hearing the M 6 again in Munich

Scanspeak and Eton those mentioned also have them manufactured there look under references klick in link
95% of all loudspeakers are built there. They are only subsequently assembled at scanspeak exsample

The no compromise approach can be applied in a lot of other aspects. For example Mike Devore makes his top driver baskets and wave guides from Bronze - does this mean that my FC drivers with Aluminium baskets are shit?

Are Aluminum cabinets better than wood? Maybe Copper or Silver would be better still. What should all high end speaker cabinets be made from?

What about the cabling and crossover parts?

Whatever anyone uses or does, there is always going to be something that might be better :).
There are many ways to skin a cat WRT high quality speakers. This does not negate the fact that there are processes and materials that deliver lower distortion that yield better sonics. For example - wood as a cabinet material does not provide the same level of low vibration / distortion as more exotic materials used by companies like Magico, Wilson, Vivid Audio, YG Acoustics, etc. I believe there's data from some of these companies that detail their material(s) of choice benefits.

Also, different combinations of high - quality materials employed (sometimes) differently that result in high quality / low distortion results will vary in tonality.

Finally, I hope the envelope will continue to be pushed resulting in "better." If not, the journey for us all might end sooner than we'd like and what's the fun in that? ;-)

Happy Listening!

I think where it comes down too is better for you personally , not better in general
Not everybody likes the same stuff and that is fine .
Some people might think phenolic resin composites make the sound dead and go for wood .
For me personally the route has ended .
I went last year to munich and i gravitated basically to the same material i have at Home to listen too , which is an extremely inert cabinet
The ones i liked best were Kharma , Rockport Lyra ( alu composite ) and i think FM acoustics also makes use of a inert Phenolic resin composite ( i guess this based on what i heard)
As far as leight weight i think Vivid also does an excellent job

Every housing material and speaker cone material one can think of has already been put into use.
Listen and pick( buy) your flavour

Should they m9 be a four-box system?

The M9s go down to 18 Hz and with authority. You can add two Magico Titan subs that go down to 12 Hz if you choose to do so. Then you have your four box system

All four cabinets would be controlled with the bass/mid-bass adjustable MXO all analog crossover that is included with the M9 system.

Very cool. Like the way the MXO was designed to cover dual subs as well.

How does the Titan compare in performance with the QSub18 which is dual-18" vs the dual 15" of the Titan?

Must confess I have not heard the Q18s, which along with the Q15's have been discontinued and replaced with the Titan. I have not heard the Titan either. Unless I hear something I don't really have an opinion.

Although the Titan was designed with the M9s in mind where the Q18's were designed prior to the M9 release.

Alon says that even with the M9s adding two Titans adds an overall uptick in SQ and they have a pair at the factory that can be demonstrated with the M9s.

Does the Titan allow a high-level (speaker level) input?

The youtube was made by AV Plaza in Seoul.
They did answer questions on the youtube comment section.
Pls ask them for more details.
BTW they responded to one of the questions and said that they would release a youtube of M9 paired with an all-CH system, probably their 10 Series poweramps.

Yes I was there one week ago and enjoyed the system.

It is the best modern speaker that I had ever listened. ;)
