That really is news as Andy has been the brains and guts of Rockport since its inception
The change of ownership should allow Andy to concentrate more on product development and technical work.
Would love to see the Lyra-generation equivalent of the Arrakis!!!
I would not be so sure - the new company owner is the Transparent Audio Product Development Director - his experience is mainy in cable design. He is the man behind the TA Opus cables and BTW, is a trumpet player.

That makes some sense, but you don’t have to sell your company to hire a business person to relieve a creative designer/builder person of the operations and administrative burdens of the business side of the business.

I was just making the point that having done so for business or other reasons, the obvious side benefit of that decision is it frees up the Chief Designer to do core work (ie: product development & technical work). I think we can agree on that.

IIRC there was a time when there was thought by Andy to release a Sirius 5 turntable but if memory serves me it was kayboshed because of the prohibitive cost of all the parts to mill.

Well, maybe they're looking at the $400k price tag for the AF0 and thinking there's a market for a $500k tt. Surely that would secure the existence of a bleeding edge DD beast.

Steve, if massive pricetags do anything, they show the next exponential ticket is possible.
So a $25-30k SAT or Thales Statement shows a new $50k SAT can be comprehended.
A $120k MSB Select 3 box dac shows a likely $150k plus Wadax Reference dac is possible.
And a $400k AF0 shows a $500k Sirius V could be possible. Or not.

This could never happen, as Tim sheridhan is sadly not alive, the price of a system 111 today let alone V would certainly be crazy today and in my opinion one of the greatest audio engineering marvels to exist.
and sold factory direct it was not real world pricing unlike the techdas where all the exact multiples are in place.
