WBF Sponsor feature special for October: Transparent Audio

What’s Best Forum Welcomes Karen Sumner.

Karen Sumner is a founder, CEO, and President of Transparent Audio, Inc. Transparent Audio’s mission is to help customers put together music listening systems that provide “you are there” music listening experiences.

Karen has more than 40 years of experience in the audio industry and has been a pioneer in helping to establish cabling as a vital audio component. Music, not audio, however, is her first love. She has played piano and guitar since childhood and has experienced countless live music performances with some of the foremost musical artists in the world at some of the most noteworthy venues in the United States and Europe.

Karen has done her homework about what makes a hifi system sound like live music. She started at fourteen by building a Heathkit integrated amplifier and a pair of floor standing speakers designed by her father. Today, she has an RPG-designed music studio, a music library consisting of tens of thousands of selections including numerous master recordings of performances she has attended, and a carefully curated system of reference components that are linked throughout with precision-calibrated Transparent Cables.

We look forward to hearing from Karen from time-to-time, as she shares her thoughts about her many experiences in the industry.

Here is the first thread from Karen. Enjoy!

We are excited to announce Tobian Sound Systems has joined What's Best Forum as a sponsor.

Tobian Sound Systems is based in Switzerland and has a range of excellent products including tube amplifiers, a phono stage, and both dynamic and horn speakers. Some words from CEO Günter Tobian:

"I believe at Tobian Sound systems we have managed to create a 'close to live' music reproduction capability in the living rooms of our customers, which allows them to experience the emotions conveyed by the music."

Technology and craftsmanship to serve musical reproduction

"Music has been, for as long as I can remember, a major part of my life. And for almost as long as that I have created, optimized and perfected musical devices. To achieve this I have found a balance between traditional craftsmanship and innovative technology – the best of both worlds. Only trust your ears and let your senses decide."
