I compared AM V1 test discs with the AP disc for azimuth and the results are very different. Spot on (< 1dB) with AP shows about 6dB difference using the AM disc. Can I get close to Koetsu Blue Lace with a less expensive Koetsu?

Can I get close to Koetsu Blue Lace with a less expensive Koetsu?
I have a Koetsu Blue Lace Platinum and love it. I want a cartridge for another set up and hoping to get close to the Blue Lace without spending quite as much $$$. how do you know when a stylus is worn out?
Forgive me if this is covered elsewhere but I can't find it if it is. This is my Koetsu Blue Lace with probably a few hundred hours on it. I know it won't last forever but it costs several $1000 to have it rebuilt so I don't want to do it before it needs it. at what point is it worn down...- BruceBW

It makes no sense to me that it is "normal" for distortion in one channel to be 3 to 4 times higher than the other. Just because the screen says it is "normal" doesn't mean it is right.
