    New KO 2

In a nutshell, the KO 2 provides me with a greater emotional connection with the music and this is its most important contribution in my view, See you at RMAF.

    New KO 2

My first reaction to the sound of the KO2 was an increased sense of dynamics in images beyond the boundary of the loudspeakers. That is, images to the extreme left and extreme right exhibited life-like dynamics. This quality is normally provided only by much more expensive systems in our...

We are breaking in the KO 2 now for the RMAF. I will post my listening impressions and comments shortly. Of course the best advice is to come and hear them for yourself. For those that cannot make it, I will offer some pre show comments. Stay tuned

    Nola Concert Grands

The current NOLA line uses advanced silk dome tweeters, which we have developed over many years for the Boxer Collection, and true ribbon tweeters for the Reference Series. Both of these high frequency transducers are much better at tolerating less than optimum software compared to the metal...

In response to the above thread from infinitely baffled, I would like to clear up some facts. The Alon IV used a 12 inch woofer with foam surround and these could be as much as 25 yrs old. The foam surround has a limited life of from 5 to 10 years. The rest of the drivers will not need to be...

Some Members Discuss Their Nola Speakers

Pretty amazing. I understand regarding the YG. I have had many other speakers, including some like Magico and Wilson which basically "steals the shows" by reviewers and hence people often follow the reviewer crowd, while NOLAs get such little press or audition time. I look at it as other...

Some Members Discuss Their Nola Speakers

CGRG design One of the concepts we believe in which we were more fully able to implement in the CGRG is that of low mass with high force. This is implemented over the full range to provide "life like" transients and the natural feeling of "aliveness" present in the real thing. Starting with...

    Nola Speakers Forum

In answer to the question about the Concert Grand, it is a 5 way design using 7 separate crossover boards, using our Unison Technology. And of course it is all passive. I will post more soon regarding what makes this design different. Thanks

Hi, I saw Armando at Munich and he will bring in Metro Golds and Joel wants to review them. Also shortly after Newport, John Atkinson will get the Metro Golds. I was in a funny situation as I demonstrated the Baby Gold and the Metros sounded almost too good n an other room!

I do agree that a tube preamp driving a class A solid state amplifier can work very well on Metro Gold . We used a BAT tube pre with the Plinius 300 watt class A amp on the Metros here at Munich. However, once you get to Baby Gold, tubes, all the way is my preference.

The Baby Grand Ref II did work better with the Ref 250. However the Ref 75 works with the New Baby Grand Reference Gold. This is due to the new bass drivers with exotic Alnico magnet systems. We are using these here at Munich with 40 watts . We could use more power such as the Ref 75 but do not...

    Nola Concert Grands

Note: The Metro Gold at 87 dB is less sensitive than the Concert Grand Gold at 91dB. All our speakers are 8 ohms so these ratings are real. However that means if you wanted the same loud output from a Metro Gold compared to a Concert Grand Gold, the Metro needs more than twice the power. A...
