The Linux kernel gets updated regularly for DACs that develop/update their firmware to enable native DSD playback via USB using "Altset 2" and uRendu incorporates the kernel updates when they do their update releases also. The issue is that Amanero hasn't updated their firmware free of glitches...
That is not correct.
uRendu (and other Linux based renderers like SoTM) are not 'limited' and can do PCM384 and DSD512 and DoP128. It all depends on what USB card your DAC has. If it is an Amanero card (like Lampizator and T&A Dac 8 DSD), it won't play Native DSD but will be limited to DoP128...
Easy contender for amongst the best out there. Purchased as demo unit from an authorized dealer in summer 2016. Dealer had about ~200 hours on it and I've added maybe 300 more. Condition is 8.5/10; the beautiful chrome plating shows a few very faint scratches on the top plate but a nice chrome...
I'm curious about why GG at 512 is not easy/possible with the SGM? Did the GG not have the DSD512 add-on chipless board upgrade? Processing power of the SGM can't be the issue since it's readily doing 512 into the Dac8. Sorry if I've misunderstood something.
Hi
The Lampi Silver Shadow is a regular powered USB cable AFAIK (I feel rather stupid not being able to confirm this 100%!).
In terms of performance with the Sablon, I perceive a lower noise floor, more bass with more definition compared to the Lampi. Compared to the WW, the highs are a lot more...
Mark is usually very quick on email - he might be traveling or something. Prices for all the cables are on his website. The unpowered USB is $400 including shipping to the US.

Have been using the unpowered Sablon 2017 for 3 weeks now going from a LPS1 powered Microrendu to Lampizator Atlantic. Absolutely delightful cable this is - easily improved upon a Wireworld platinum and Lampi's Silver Shadow cables I also have. Mark is a pleasure to deal with.
Thank you. My questions aren't just academic in nature - I have an Atlantic (the spec sheet for it says PCM R2R and DSD R2R) which I'm looking to upgrade to the Golden Atlantic (the Big 7 or GG don't fit size-wise in my environment). I'm trying to make a decision on whether to add the DSD512...
From Page 1 of the 6moons review:
"In his DSD engine, ?ukasz Fikus uses no standard converter chip to process the signal. In fact, there’s no chip at all. Digital-to-analog conversion is handled exclusively with a filter developed by Herr LampizatOr himself. What we know is that he uses passive...
Well, posts #121 and #124 pointed to some chip in the DSD section. I have no idea what it does - that's what I'm trying to understand. My I/V converter assumption appears wrong.
Thank you for that. One more question though : what does "DAC-chipless" mean? From what I understand, the DSD bitstream is low-pass filtered using discrete parts; so what part is going through the "chip"?
For the technically challenged like me, can someone explain a bit what is the difference between DAC-chipless vs. the "regular" DSD256 engine in the Atlantic/GG?
