What turntables do you use? Pictures would be nice as well :-)

Hi Groovemaster, thank you for your compliment. Well I have been using the Phonolab Pro from Audio Specials for two years. I have had a few other phono preamps with me in the past. I am very satisfied with the Phonolab Pro. No more reason to look around for something else. Take care Rainer

    The Dereneville Turntable Motor

Quote: serious manufacturer would either correct the issue or would refund the money paid. This is a remarkable sentence but is not entirely true. Fact is the following: I wrote to Savvas on the 23. November It's up to you if you want to reverse part of the purchase. But please keep in mind...

    One recording for system evaluation?

@all Maybe I have a little advantage. ;) I use my own LP recordings because that way I know how it sounds right. They are mostly recordings with wind orchestras and big church organs. But there are also piano - flute - harpsichord - choirs - and guitar recordings. Since I conducted and mixed...

    One recording for system evaluation?

This is really a very good CD for testing. But it is important to know that the first track - "Gütersloher Glocken" : "volles Geläut" is a recording that I personally made in 1990 with my digital equipment. I wish everyone much pleasure with it. BR Rainer

    Pivoting Linear-Tracking Tonearms

Sorry David, I am still of the firm opinion that the tone arm and other elements should not produce sound themselves. Only the pickup and the cantilever should get the sound out of the groove. The tone arm itself should be absolutely neutral. Only my personal opinion. Best regards Rainer

The Heretic 1- a non believers take on Turntable building

@ Carl Innovations can almost always be described as positive. Start-ups are also often known for innovations. So one can basically see start-ups in a positive light. We too started as a start-up and celebrated our successes and do it still today. What I personally find very unfortunate and...

    The Dereneville Turntable Motor

Dear friends, We have gone a different way with our TT. We work with a special magnetic bearing that carries the whole weight of the 25 kg platter. Important to know - the magnetic field is completely isolated and does not affect the outside. We can give a 300 year guarantee on this bearing...

    The Dereneville Turntable Motor

Warm up and run continuously is not necessary with this drive unit. It runs absolutely constantly from minus 20 °C to plus 60 °C - right from the start. There is no need to worry about the speed of rotation. Thank you, Rainer

    The Dereneville Turntable Motor

I think you are waiting for the results. But I'll have to put you off for a few days. To be honest with you: despite all the perfection - I made a small mistake during the assembly of this first prototype. It would be pointless to go into detail here. Mistakes are human, right? That's why I...
