    I thought the 333 would not need a fan unless the DAC and phono module are installed? Do you still find the D300’s midrange warmer than the 333?

    I would go directly to the Antileon to get a significant upgrade. Some people actually prefer the D300 over the Essence combo. Different sound character but not necessarily better.

    Thanks, I have not had the chance to compare the 300 and 333 side by side yet. I’ve been afraid that the 333 could be a bit too controlled and less warm than the 300. I think my D300 has all the control my Magnepans need and more analytical/less warm would be a downgrade for my system Looking...

    Thanks, I have an Accuphase dealer close to me but I don’t care much for the Accuphase amps, perhaps their cd-players could be my cup of tea? In what way would you say the latest Esoteric is better than their earlier stuff? Unfortunately no Esoteric dealer close to me.

    I believe you can order the X-upgraded 2.7i as well. If it’s worth the money, who knows??? I would go for the 2.7i, it has the ribbon tweeter!

    Yes, both the 1.7i and the 1.7X will be available. ”The idea is that the MG___X program will always be a tandem option with the main line” I believe the new 2.7i (with ribbon tweeter) is making its debut at the capital audiofest nov 10-12.

    Very hard to get a home demo of Esoteric where I’m located Are the new Esoteric cd-players warmer/more organic than the older ones?

    ”The DTR-MR is our reference digital audio CD/SACD transport, designed to work as a tandem with our top-line DSD-MR and DSD-SR converters” I’m sure this cd-transport is top notch but costs way more than I’m willing to spend on a cd-player/dac.

    I’ve been looking at Aesthetix Romulus (Sign) which according to some rewievers should have a more analogue sound. Downside; no SACD capability.
