    Submerge Subwoofer

My dual 18" took over a year to build & deliver. The piano gloss finish on bamboo took a long time to get perfect. I don't think that year long waits are typical at Funk Audio. Best wishes with your new sub! :) I don't have personal experience with PSA subs, nor have I read much about them...

    Submerge Subwoofer

My first Funk sub was a dual 15" in Java Bamboo veneer - I don't have that one anymore. I'm sure that you'll be happy with your dual 12". Nathan always does a fine job no matter how you want it configured. What veneer did you choose? Cheers.

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

Tom, if you were an ordinary WBF member I would just ignore your posts & move on. Given that you're a mod however, that makes it different. I have the impression that you just don't like objectivists coming in and challenging any of the claims that are made here. Better that WBF just be a...

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

You seem to forget that my posts asked members to provide evidence for the implausible claims that were being made for these lamps. No evidence was forthcoming, including from you. I don't necessarily need to have personal experience with something to be able to rightly claim with a high...

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

Your statement "you have ZERO experience with salt lamps, yet you are spewing your thoughts" was more than just "wondering". It was hostile. You don't speak that way to other folks who comment on things that they have no experience with. Just sayin'... That said, the claims being made in...

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

No need for the attitude Tom. A salt lamp is a light bulb enclosed in a hollowed out block of salt. What is the plausible mechanism by which somthing of that construction could have a positive effect on an audio system? What is the non-anecdotal evidence for it? It was stated early on that...

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

That's just speculation, of course. There's a big difference between hypothesizing a plausible reason for a hoped for result, and actually measuring lower EMI noise. I have a Greenwave Broadband EMI Meter. I also just ordered a Himalayan salt lamp. (Since I haven't had much luck finding...

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

Are you aware of any credible data / measurements from a trustworthy source that would support your claim that a Himalayan salt lamp reduces EMI in an audio system that's sitting nearby?

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

I got one of those lamps for my mother a few years back. They're attractive. It's just bogus to claim that they improve audio in some way. I'll add "in my opinion", but some things I just know to be true without having to scour the internet for research data... ;)

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

My audio system sounds great & I don't have a Himalayan salt lamp in my listening room. Coincidence? I don't think so...

Himalayan Salt Lamps as HiFi tweak - Snake-oil or Not?

So Himalayan Salt lamps improve sound, and they do so by drying out the air? "They act as giant dessicants , reducing moisture in the air and thus air density and we all know that sound travels sluggishly thru thick air." Let's think about this... First off, do they actually dry out the air...
