Yes, source and target sides have 6 inch to one foot Ethernet cable.
I don’t know what you meant by ‘too much’. I went all fiber only after seeing incremental benefits. Now system sounds unbelievably clean.
So, this continued and yesterday, I replaced all Ethernet cabling by fiber and results are very satisfactory. I think for any system, this should be one of the basics that must be implemented mandatorily.
Lots of space and separation now in music. It is way more real compared to what it was...
Here is one more confirmation that fiber isolation works and elevates the experience substantially. More definition and more presence of music now (because of calmer background).
What I did was just that I isolated the Ethernet on wall and connected first switch on my system with a fiber...
Yes, FMC does not have SFP port while my switch has. Here are the items.

FMC: TP Link MC100CM
Looking for some help here. Going through this thread I read about SFP and wanted to try fiber optic connectivity in my setup. I went ahead and bought a switch with SFP ports, bought some SFP modules and a TP Link MC100CM media converter. But for some reason, though everything is connected...
As a second entry point to my networked system, I use https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/533731-attero-tech-unhx2d-dante-enabled-hdmi-audio-de-embedder-embedder. This extracts audio and converts it to Dante format and on the other end I have a Dante to AES converter feeding my DAC. I would not say...
Thanks for your response. Could you please share as to what could beat your Dante setup because I have tried different things but there something with Dante that sets it apart from others. The way Dante renders music is a total different class - realism is at its best. The some other USB based...
I am sure some of you, if not, must have heard about Dante connectivity. In my setup, I have two boxes - one that converts USB to Dante and the second one converts Dante to AES that goes into my dCS Debussy. I have been on this system for almost three years now and have compared it to several...
Just wanted to report that Oranges have been installed in both DAC and amp and could hear benefits immediately. Sound now is less digital, more holographic, more calm and lots of low level details getting uncovered.
