Here's a cool video of Charles Brown performing live that song I recorded above: Here's an artist who remained at the top of his game until he passed away. The original album is really enjoyable and is well recorded:

As it turns out, the LP is made of early studio recordings with overdubbed audience noise! Strange choice to have those wild screams in there, but it works, and his early sound is so good! https://www.bluesneoba.org/hidden-gems-by-jj-vicars/live-bb-king-on-stage I believe this is the original...

I was listening to some B.B. King last night and remembered an LP I used to play a lot when I was around 15: https://www.discogs.com/release/2245812-BB-King-On-Stage-Live It is a live recording (EDIT - it is actually an audience overdub! see below). It has an excellent version of "Sweet...

    Low-fi (budget-wise) but fun!

    My audio system.

I struggle hearing differences between power cords in that video you mentioned, but it is a difficult exercise (at least for me). Regardless, your speakers sound nice through these videos.

In terms of sound quality, I expect that it should give a little more focus to the sound of my open baffle speakers, but I'll see. My room is over 11 meters long, so it makes sense to have the largest (well, longest) space possible behind the open baffle speakers, and have some form or room...

I received the panels that will be hung on my back wall next week. They look nice (IMO), and the build quality is very good. The wood panel behind will be moved to the side wall. The 3 panels have PET felt. They are available in either 5 or 10cm depth. I chose the 5 cm depth for esthetic...

Listening to the Peggy Lee video on my phone and comparing it to the sound of the same track played on the Qobuz app of my phone, it is obvious that there is some lower bass missing - but the vocals sound pretty good, and oddly enough the bass is not really missed that much when listening to the...

That mono LP sounds nice as well - better than my digital stereo version. Perhaps in another system the stereo version could be better, I don't know. The saxophone in the stereo version is panned to the left channel, which is an odd choice given that this track is one long Hodges solo! In mono...

I set up my speakers in a position I had not tried before and I like the results. Speakers are facing the length of the room, a little over 4 meters from the back wall. I have an L-shaped sofa next to the right speaker, which I have to rotate, but a new sofa is coming, with a separate leg rest...

I was excited to receive a mono pressing of a Johnny Hodges album I enjoy a lot - Blues A Plenty. It sounds good, and it is nice just having it :) https://www.discogs.com/release/2364315-Johnny-Hodges-And-His-Orchestra-Blues-A-Plenty I plan on getting a mono cartridge and will be curious to...

I understand your dilemma, but unfortunately have no experience to offer with the RX or the SX combined with external amps. What are your current speakers?

Hi-Fi is NOT a subjective hobby.

I found this review interesting. He explains, starting around 3:30, how he used EQ to adjust the frequency response and it led to slightly different perceptions of imaging and depth. I personally don't know what to make of this but perhaps some can relate to his explanations?

    Why Synergy horns?

Though the question is not directed to me, and I am far from a specialist, it seems pretty obvious from my experience of various speakers that "resolution" is something which is not captured by frequency response and directivity.

On the topic of subjectivity, some interesting comments from Janos of Real World Audio in his latest video:
