ive been using a jbl synthesis sdp3 as a pre. never got around to using it as a 5.1 processor.
the manual describes using it as a preamp. it has worked well as far as i can tell.
would getting a dedicated preamp make that much difference?
Never thought about using cheap class d or even class d period.
I chose a pair of high-current stereo amps(class ab) so it would be easier and passively, vertically bi-amped. I had earlier horizontally bi-amped then went vertical and stayed.
Better bass response vertically. Seperation, maybe.
Mine sounds harsh and thin for about the first fifteen minutes. The presentation is flat. Then begins improving.
About an hour in, bass starts rolling, mids a bit more present, hi begins to sweeten.
At three hours, ish be cooking.
Bass is very lively, muscular and musical, mids especially low...
10 AWG is relatively stiff. AVcording to its write-up it also is ofc. This certainly overkill for my kit but, hey.
Might be biting off more than I can chew here, but I'm going to offer up that these cables make strong impact in bass strength and detail, mid presence and sweetening of my treble...
Actually, this cord is fairly stiff. I had to do some rub work to get them to seat without stress on the connectors.

Audiocrast, an Amazon brand. Surely nothing like the cables a lot of folks here have. Till now, I didn't give them much thought. I bought these because irrationally I liked the looks. Whteher I can see them or not(I can). Cheap chinese, yeah. Does it matter to me? No.
I've been pretty much an objectivist on cables till today. It shouldn't matter scientifically.
I bought new power cable just because one them wouldn't stay seated after long last.
I bought some pretty nice looking power cables from Amazon. Spent about $100 for three.
From the very start...
