    New Dedicated Listening Room

Sounds like an amazing property, congratulations!

Does Analog EQ belong in State of the Art Systems?

I like what some speaker manufacturers do and allow for simple resistor swaps but the old Cello preamp/eq always intrigued me.

Maybe it’s a sign to buy that lottery ticket! But truly, other than a few tube issues nothing of note

That’s frustrating, sorry you’ve had a bad experience. Have owned two IO’s over that last 20 years (original Signature and now Eclipse) and have never experienced and issue…knock on wood.

Extremely interested to hear your findings. Been putting off this same update for months for no real reason. How long was several months, six?

Don’t recall what the stock tubes were as it was about 7-8 years ago when I got the Eclipse. Bought the tubes wayyy back when I had the IO Signature (2006-ish)

Pretty much all the standard things we hope for when spending our hard earned money on. Unfortunately I’m not much of a wordsmith but the best analogy I can think of would be a difference in magnitude of going from a really nice digital playback to a really nice vinyl system.

Was using 50s-60s Red Base CBS 5692 (6sn7) and the sound definitely improved

Sad face indeed. Need to get it down to Aesthetix asap to start the upgrade process

I used vintage NOS Tele’s in v1 & v2 for years and while the sound was amazing the thought of trying to replicate that sound with more NOS Tele’s down the road made me swap to Gold Lion 12ax7 cryos. Was very happy with the Gold Lions but haven’t used the IO in two years now due to the...

What's next for the Wilson Yvette?

Absolutely! Eggleston released many new models over those 20+ years but never thought about changing, and planning to keep the Yvette’s just as long so not too concerned about whatever update or change they make. Perhaps once I recover from the initial expense I’ll have the WAAD tweak to look...

What's next for the Wilson Yvette?

There’s a pending announcement on their website coming tomorrow. If my recent luck with timing is any indication, it will be the new Yvette!

What's next for the Wilson Yvette?

Just ordered a pair of Yvette’s and if my recent stock picks are any indication, the new model will be released any day and decrease the value of the current model. Either way I’m SUPER excited as I’ve been lovingly using Eggleston speakers off and on for the past 20+ years. The Wilsons should...

OMA polycrystalline graphite mat - why does it work?

Another happy previous Boston Mat user. Would probably try it on my current table but it has a raised spindle area that would prevent it from resting flat

Thanks for the feedback @audioquest4life, @oldvinyl, & @Kcin. While I did own the original IO Signature about 20 years ago, I used a few phono stages between that and the Eclipse, I do recall a nice improvement between the Signature and the Eclipse. Kind of figured the new transformers and caps...
