Network Acoustics - Tempus network switch

NA, If possible, please research the size of DC barrel/plug for Verizon FIOS G3100 router. It’s slightly off from the standard sizes. Very frustrating! Fios is a very robust Fiber system & I’m sure the G3100 could benefit from a dedicated LPS. Perhaps someone has located the proper size DC plug...

Stack Audio SmoothLAN ethernet isolation filter

I am still evaluating best location for smoothLAN #2. I will let you know where the best location is for my setup. It's important to note that I currently have fiber between Fios G3100 router and Synergistic Research switch. SmoothLAN #1 is located between ROON Nucleus+ and SR switch.

Stack Audio SmoothLAN ethernet isolation filter

I will try the SR Ethernet cable in place of the Stack Audio provided pigtail & report back. However, it has always been my understanding that the quality of cable coming from the "clean side" of the filter is more important.

Stack Audio SmoothLAN ethernet isolation filter

I understand your point now. I would have to experiment a bit with a different LAN cable from the jumper provided. My existing Ethernet cables are decent SR Galileo SX. To your point, the ENO & Muon come with fixed/internally wired pigtails.

Stack Audio SmoothLAN ethernet isolation filter

Hello Justubes, Unless I misunderstand you, which is entirely possible, no extra LAN cable is necessary. You simply plug in the ethernet jumper that comes with the smoothLAN filter where existing ethernet cable is.Then existing LAN cable into filter. In my case, filter & provided jumper plugs...

My optical rig consists of 2 Sonore Optical Module Deluxes, Teddy Pardo LPS's for each, Finisar transceivers, Commscope & Corning fiber single & multimode LC/LC. Path from Fios router directly to dirty OM then OM clean-side to SR switch.

Stack Audio SmoothLAN ethernet isolation filter

Thank you for your impressions of the Stack Audio SmoothLAN filter. Glad you're feeling better! I have been running mine for a week now, but Covid has slowed my ability to listen critically. However, I can say that I do hear subtle but noticeable improvements to my streaming, especially with...

Stack Audio SmoothLAN ethernet isolation filter

Prior to adding the Sonore OM's, my experience with the Network Acoustics ENO & Muon filters as well as EtherRegen with ext clock had all of them placed just before the Gold Note. With the SmoothLAN, it will most likely go between Nucleus & switch.
