I tried the Aries Cerat with the Tidal speakers... excellent with acoustic music or vocal jazz, but struggled with rock and symphonic music.
The Aries Concero 65 would probably be a better option.
Hello Kuoppis,
The Octaves are really special and versatile. I think you can go with any speakers. The amplifiers can extract all the qualities of that loudspeaker.
Hello,
I had the Viva Solista and the Wavac 805.
For me, the Wavac is superior to Viva and I have good memories of those times (at that time I switched from Viva to Wavac and compared the two side by side).
Viva sounds beautiful and holographic, but homogenize the sound a little, and all...
I would like to announce to the community that I am in love again. And I was already convinced that those times of passion had already passed.
The big culprits are the new Ocatve MRE220SE amps and the HP700SE Pre.
Background
I've always been a passionate fan of valves, especially single-ended...
Probably the Mephisto is more neutral, but I was a tube guy, and when I decided to go to a SS Amp, I made a criterious research and ended with the Antileon...is like a 300B amp on steroids....fantastic IMO.
I only compared Mephisto with my Antileon, and in my room with my speakers I like the Antileon more. Mephisto more transparent but a thinner sound. Antileon warmer and fuller...a better match for my Tidal speakers.
Thank you Stravos,
I am on the fence to order the Kassandra Ref MK2 DAC...but Helene is so good! ... You are suspicious (eh eh....no offense), but what aspect of sound will improve from Helene to Kassandra ?
thank you .
Nuno
My actual system is Triode TRX-M845 SET Amp, Ayon CD35 HF CD / DAC / Preamp, Paradigm Persona 9H speakers.
Although satisfied with my system, I had always a secret admiration for Aries Cerat...and finally Aries Cerat is being represented in my country, so it was inevitable that I would try them...
