I have never listened to a number 40 so I could not tell you. I know when they made the number 32, it was a cost no object approach......- old school

Linking Mark Levinson components
#1 I have my No 32 ,31.5, 360s linked together. They all work correctly. However, my 336 amp is linked also, but does not link like the other units. The lights are not in sync, and it will not turn on or off with the other units. Am I missing something??- old school

No 31.5

next upgrade?
About 3 weeks ago, I was able to find a No 31.5. It to made a nice Improvement. Nowhere near as much as the preamp but still an improvement. I now would like to find a 30.6 processor.......- old school

Yes, I am really enjoying the preamp. It is a joy to use and has made a significant difference in my system. After my new speakers, I would say the preamp made the biggest difference! The Sound Stage and Clarity and quietness of it is incredible!- old school

No 31.5
I bought a NO 31.5. It just had a new laser assembly installed by a Levinson certified shop. I was told it was $2200. Apparently the laser for this model has 2 drive motors, that are part of the laser setup. Everything else was up to spec. This is replacing a NO 37. should I expect any...- old school

I have one. It replaced a 38s. Their is no comparison between those too. I think it sounds amazing! It is also the best looking pre-amp, I have ever used. I love mine, and will never part with it!! My system: B&W 800 Diamonds ML no 336 ML no 32 ML no360s ML no 37 Transparent...- old school

Well I found me a mark Levinson no 32. Should be here next week. It will replace my no 38s. Hoping for a nice improvement. Next on the list, is a mark Levinson no 30.6. Wonder how long it will take to find one? Took years to find the pre-amp.......- old school

JackD201, thanks. I was thinking about the no 32 pre-amp, first also. I have been away for years thou, and would like the opinions of people more up to date than I am. I am having a hard time finding a no 32. Would a 326s be a good alternate? Or should I just hold out and keep looking?- old school
