I have a Vega since last year, connected to a Spectral 30SL2 with silver UPOCC cables.
I was in the market to buy a fast but not innaturaly fast DAC, with a shade of swetness but not too much, in the range 4k-8k and amongst the dacs I've heard the short list was the Analog, the Vega, the Metrum...
thanks to all for the replies, I've checked in the manual and it actually states that the balance scale is related to attenuation (so viceversa with regards to most part of the other pre), and so going all the way to left means attenuate the left channel till it is completely turned off.
best...
Ah, ok, then my loved (not a joke, I do love it, it's the best preamp I've ever had!!) 30SLG2 is behaving correctly, veeeeery good!!!!!!!
Again, many thanks for your support and patience.
regards
mike
Ack,
sorry, now I understand the misunderstanding.... apologies for my faulty english, I wrote badly what's happening with my 30SL...
When I said "the sound comes out only by the right speaker", with "comes out" I don't mean "attenuates to infinity (turn off)", but exactly the viceversa!!!!
In...
Hi again, writing a lot today :)
I currently own a DMA100, and I was looking for an used DMA200S or DMA260, but unfortunately they seem to be very very very rare on the secondhand market at least here in EU.
Now I've been offered an used DMA160S in quite mint condition. I would like to...
Hi ack, thanks for your reply.
So, if I get your answer correctly, you're saying that if I "turn" the balance all the way down to the left, it is absolutely normal that the sound comes out only by the right speaker?
In other word, it is absolutely normal an "inverted" configuration with...
Hi all,
I've bought some time ago a secondhand 30SL G2 (D revision). After some months (yes, my fault to not have checked this before) I've found a problem. Pre is working perfectly apart from the balance, which has a very strange behaviour. If I balance sound towards the left side (for...
Well, I've been told that to get the max performance out of this fantastic pre, the Spectral must be set for the max gain to get full performance, irrespective of poweer amp sensibility or loudspeaker efficiency.
I used to have an Aesthetix Calypso (well, actually I still have it but don't use...
Hi again
sorry for the trivial question: what is the default position of the internal switches in the 30SL G2?
I've already gone through the manual, but it's not clear to me the correct position for the maximum gain, i.e. no input attenuation and +6db gain from the line stage. looking the...
Hi Ack
thanks for the reply.
I thought that there could be a jumper or similar to be changed.....
I think I will go for now with a step down transformer.

mike
Hi all
I've bought some time ago an 30SL g2 in the US with a 120V AC
now I've returned in Europe and so I would like to know if I must necessarily use a 220-120 transformer or there's a way to change on the pcb the AC power from the original 120V to 220V AC
many thanks
mike
