I hope you enjoyed your time listening to the Auditoriums, I had lots of fun setting up the room with Florian last weekend (moving those speakers around is certainly a good workout !) - he mentioned that he had a guest coming over from the UK, so we wanted to get the room just right for you - I...
I was over in Switzerland last weekend to help Florian collect the Auditoriums from Roy's place (a nice trip to France) - I also helped with the original installation at Roy's back In December.
I've known Roy for many years and insisted to Florian that he got the 'world exclusive' on the...
The Telos 280 has been replaced by the Telos 300, this is a much better amplifier (incorporates some new 'NextGen' technology and improvements to the power supply) - big step up from JOB, but you will also need a good pre-amp (currently using my T300 with a Mimesis 37S NextGen)
The build quality and sound quality are excellent, the manufacturing team in Vietnam are true craftsmen and passionate about their products - a real labour of love - the high-end 'scene' in Vietnam is incredible, they are serious about this stuff
Interestingly, a well known and respected reviewer in the UK has just passed comment on an integrated amp that he has just written about in the Jan 2019 edition of HiFi Plus - stating that this particular product 'might just be the musical benchmark in high-end integrated amps' (he has also...
I did not mean to insinuate that designers of audio equipment do not take account of phase/time errors and distortion but that most of them (especially in speaker crossover and amplifier design) do not seem to be that concerned about eliminating it.
As mentioned, I know of one manufacturer that...
I probably should have called them 'drive unit cables' - I assume that the system uses some kind of multicore cable or a number of individual cables that make up the 'speaker cable' as a whole
Apologies if my use of the inverted commas was upsetting.
I think the Kyron makes use of a digital crossover (possibly by DEQX ?) and Class D amps (N-Core ?) and a loom of various 'speaker' cables - the output from the crossover may well be time aligned, but the output from a Class D amp won't be (there will be a big amount of time distortion between...
Hi Peter, no I'm not referring to that speaker as I have not heard it (and thus, cannot comment on the results of the design)
However, I do find it encouraging that the company in question is (within their own limits as purely a speaker manufacturer only) taking the matter of time distortion...
Hi, yes you will definitely need some control over the delay times in an A/V system (akin to those that I used for large PA installations in my 'live' sound days) as this is used to ensure that the placement proximity of the various speaker channels combine to produce a sound that is 'in-sync'...
Hi Amir, unfortunately I think the answer to your question is way beyond my 'pay grade' :-)
I think we, as humans have evolved to survive in our natural environment and it's an environment devoid of time distortion (none of us has the ability to alter time - Dr Who does not exist :-)...
