Thank you tima, et al., for all of this great information. I'm embarking on reducing my ignorance in LP cleaning and the contributions here, and with Neil.Antin's epic research and book, I'm beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you all for the illumination!
I’d say that they are interested in a number of things, but entertainment would probably be the top of the list. Some are, of course, more knowledgeable than others. How knowledge am I? I guess I’d say the same thing about me. But my job is not to sell them equipment but to set up what they...
Elliot, some of the folks I work with are in the uber-wealthy (truly uber) category, and I'll say that they either don't read or don't pay a lot of attention to forums such as WBF. It's not a criticism to this forum, but they just don't care what's said on sites like this. As for reviews and...
I am very happy for you, Todd. You have such a considered passion for your pursuit. I know purchasing the iTron Trio's was a well-considered and researched decision. Despite Roy's consistency of message, taking the time to travel multiple times to experience and confirm for yourself how they...
For you guys wanting to experiment with different materials but are concerned about using stainless steel for magnetic proximity reasons, A2 stainless steel is austenitic (non-magnetic). A4 stainless is supposed to be austenitic as well, but my experience has been that most of the A4 stainless...
Mike,
My condolences to you, his family, and his friends. I did not know Johnathan, and it sounds like that is my loss. I hope he will be well recognized for his many and broad contributions to this industry. May he rest in peace.
Marty,
Thank you. You are correct, "any live music is...all good! " I need to explore more balcony seating. I've come to really like Orchestra Center section J-N at Davies Hall. Maybe I'm hearing less of the hall there, and that's why I like it. But I do really enjoy the immediacy of proximity.
Thank you for your insights. As a part of my "orchestral experience education" journey, I've been deliberately sitting much closer to the orchestra than the wonderful seats you have mentioned in the balcony. I know these seats can provide a beautiful and satisfying experience, but I've been...
Thank you for this wonderful story. It really resonates with me. ;) I've always been curious how many conductors, when on tour with their orchestra, take into consideration the acoustics of the different halls they play. Here in San Francisco at Davies Hall during the Blomstedt years, although...
Thank you. Health is doing well! I just need to let the effects of some hormone and radiation therapies find their way out of my system so I can get back to normal. Riding with virtually zero testosterone is really....well,....interesting! :) I see the women's Tour ends on the Planche des...
True! My Orbea can't handle a newer wide road rim (Zipp 303) with 25's. It's the rim, not the tire. But, the HED Ardennes fits perfectly. So my older Look 595 gets the wider rim and tire set, and the newer but tight chainstay Orbea gets the HED's. And I gotta say, the HED's built up with Chris...
Sorry for my late response. Was on a job up in Seattle. It's beautiful here, but I can only hang for about 30 slow and flat miles at the moment. I'm on 25's still as my Orbea can't handle the 28's, but no problem on the Look 595. A health hiccup kept me off the bike most of 2021 (1,800 slow...
Beautiful bikes! You've done some very nice riding in Europe. I've had the opportunity to ride a bit in the Pyrenees, mostly following the Tour. I loved the Tourmalet, had a bad day on the Hautacam so that one not so much. :) Still riding skinny tires on the Fondriest? We are mostly riding...
