Anyone older in age eventually go from their beloved speakers to headphones instead? Please share!

I am selling my loudspeakers Magico S1 Mk2, REL Carbon Limited subs, and HRS Stand and shelves. I am listening exclusively to my RAAL Ear Field monitors. I have never been able to tolerate headphones for more than a few minutes because they made my ears hot. The RAAL's do not touch your ears...

    Totaldac versus Rockna Wavedream?

Hi Saleh, I tried what you suggested. When I connected the usb and selected usb on the dac. Going to the Roon setup under audio, the Wavedream appeared in addition to the Wavedream Net. I selected the Wavedream and was presented with options, but nowhere was there any usb option. Once again...

    Totaldac versus Rockna Wavedream?

Hey Saleh, I am glad that you chimed in. I was going to try usb between my Wavedream dac and NET server, but I got no sound from the dac. Is there something that you have to do in order to make usb work with the combo Rockna's? Thanks.

    Totaldac versus Rockna Wavedream?

Before having the Rockna NET, I had a Musica Pristina Acappella which had usb and I2S. This is where I first encountered HDMI I2S. The proprietor of Musica Pristina encouraged me to try I2S. I was using a topnotch usb cable (Curious Cable) at the time. My dac at that time was a PS Audio...

    Totaldac versus Rockna Wavedream?

I have owned the Bricasti M1SE. In my system, the Rockna Wavedream Signature fed via I2S HDMI from the Rockna Wavedream NET server is far far superior in most all parameters to the M1SE. My music comes from the 1 TB ssd in the NET. I believe this to be superior to streaming. Just my opinion.

    Totaldac versus Rockna Wavedream?

I had the Denafrips Terminator before the Rockna. Another observation that I have made is that the volume control on the Rockna is absolutely superb. The Wavedream Signature when connected to the Rockna Wavedream NET server via I2S HDMI has 32 bit resolution. I have a Gryphon Diablo 120...

    Totaldac versus Rockna Wavedream?

Congratulations Saleh84. As I stated earlier in this thread, I am getting my music from the Wavedream NET's ssd internal drive as the source of music going via I2S HDMI to my Wavedream Signature SE. The combo is absolutely superb in every way. If the Wavelight is anything like the NET, you...

    Totaldac versus Rockna Wavedream?

I am looking forward to your impressions of the Rockna DAC. I think you may have proved my point about what I believe is the best sound. My music goes from the internal ssd in my NET server via native I2S to the DAC with native I2S with nothing else in between. This is a very simple albeit...

    Totaldac versus Rockna Wavedream?

I was turned on to the I2S by the designer of the server which I have had for several years before the NET. It was the Musica Pristina ACappella. The designer of that piece convinced me to try the HDMI connection when I got the PS Audio saying that it was markedly superior to usb. I was using...

    Totaldac versus Rockna Wavedream?

I have not listened to the Total Dac. However, I went from Bricasti to PS Audio Directstream to Denafrips Terminator to the Rockna Wavedream Signature SE. Each one of these changes resulted in an easily heard improvements. While I had the PS Audio, I switched from usb to HDMI I2S. That was a...
