Interesting review.. Anyone tried it? https://gy8.eu/review/casting-a-spell

I've dabbled in vibration control in my systems and have sort of given up on expensive footers, for example, having Herbies Tenderfoots under most equipment but also some IsoACOUSTICS footers under the pre/pro and power regenerator.. AcouPlex's acrylic-and-PEEK* mixture seems rather esoteric to me, and the pieces made from it are NOT inexpensive**, but I'm tempted to try it.. I've had one e-mail exchange with MusicWorks and have asked more questions.. I'm leaning toward the 50mm discs, but we'll see.

FWIW, I'm an isolatist and not a couplist.

* polyethyl-ethyl-ketone

** Export price on the 410X340mm Ip1 'plate' is 417 BPs.

The accouplex is designed to drain vibration from a component. It is not for isolation.

Just installed some acouplex "schus". They have a profund effect on the sound, mostly beneficial. Beware: they are directional! Try them out and if not satisfied, return them.

How can I find the correct direction of the “schus” other than try and listen?

Groan, I hate comparative listening. I rather listen to music.

Mostly beneficial?
Please, what are the benefits and where are the disadvantages?
Thx for your input!

While I have not tried the Schus since I live in the US, my experience with AcouPlex is almost universally good. I would suspect both directions were better than not having it, but the OP would need to comment on that. I would theorize that the "puck" has a slight bow so one direction would have more contact with the plug than the other direction. If this is the case you could test by placing the Schus on a flat surface and testing flatness. Otherwise, comparing by ear is the only way.

I too hate "comparative" listening. This is particularly unnerving with "audiophile" SR fuses which are directional, and which produce unpleasant sound until burned in. After abt 100(!) hours, suddenly everything falls into place.
Fear not with the Schus, the audible difference is immediate. The wrong way, there is almost no difference, the right way creates more space, better bass, less "strident" high frequencies, in general better sound "stability" and "fluidity". Unsurprisingly, "cheap" power cords benefit more than "expensive" power cords. I confirm what Roy Gregory noticed: the effect is cumulative. Warning: in my system, one - expensive - power cord did not "respond" at all (or, if it did, I personally could not tell the difference). So, I simply did not install a Schu there.

Most interesting!

Which plug in which socket did not respond to Acouplex discs?

Convex side to plug or to socket or is there no rule?

Mostly beneficial: where are drawbacks?

Thank you for your advice!
